Commencing a partnership in the design field with Shonan
Institute of Technology

JDI × Shonan Institute of Technology

Japan Display Inc. (JDI) is pleased to have commencement of a partnership with Shonan Institute of Technology (hereinafter "SIT", Dean Nobuo Matsumoto), in the field of design, to be announced at the strategy briefing on December 4th, 2018, called "JDI Future Trip -Creating Beyond.-"

With the current age, where the consumer behaviors are becoming ever more diverse, it is even more important to improve the aesthetic sense of space design, as the product design is more focused on. We will bring in the practical designs of SIT, and enhance the solutions from producing space, with synergistic effect of movies and aromas, through small to mid- sized LCD displays. JDI will respond to diverse needs, through proposing solutions for producing spaces with movies and aroma.

【 Shonan Institute of Technology 】

As an institute of technology, with a rich culture, they have continued to put out people who have practical skills, with the mission for developing technicians who will contribute to society. In the general design school, through the practical project curriculum and the theory in product design and space design, SIT contributes technicians that have practical skills, as well as a sense for both design and technology.

【 JDI Future Trip Project 】

In 2020, with the commercialization of the next generation communication network, 5G, coming online, IoT will progress so much that there will be machines we will come in contact with in our daily lives. JDI, by defining "With ideas that have never been heard of before, seeking unlimited technology, we will continue to create a world where humans can perform dynamically", a new organization for promoting Marketing and Innovation was started from April 2018. With the technological capabilities JDI has, as the top shareholder in the small to medium display maker in the world, the project for promoting not just manufacturing, but creating value, providing value added services and solutions is "JDI Future Trip".
