Efforts Towards a Comfortable Workplace Environment

JDI conducts annual measurements of presenteeism using the University of Tokyo's stress evaluation test (single-item version*) and group analysis. Both have a response rate of 99%, and the results are fed back to employees and workplaces to improve the work environment.

Additionally, we incorporate these analysis results into our self-care education and supervisor training, changing the theme each year. For those who cannot attend on the day of either training, we ensure 100% participation by distributing training materials and offering video viewing. This year, our self-care education deepened understanding of cognitive behavioral therapy to help alleviate anxiety and stress. Also, our supervisor training involved a self-check of management competencies to understand individual strengths and weaknesses, and how to leverage them in future management.

*Created by the Health Management Research Unit of the Policy Vision Research Center at the University of Tokyo. It asks respondents to evaluate their work over the past four weeks on a scale of 0% to 100%, assuming 100% is the level of work they can perform when they are not sick or injured. This response is used as the value of presenteeism.
