There is a growing need globally for touch-free input devices in order to decrease infection transmission risk from the use of high-traffic touch devices such as ATMs, vending machines, elevators, automatic check-in machines, and automatic ticket dispensers. Touch-free input can also aid in keeping strict hygiene at medical facilities and food processing plants. To respond to this critical personal and public health need, JDI has developed a high-precision and tailorable add-on hover sensor to easily modify current devices to make them touch-free. JDI Add-On Hover Sensor Key Usage Benefits

Touch activity up to 5cm from the sensor can be detected, even while wearing gloves.
Making full use of JDI’s advanced capacitive sensor technology, tap height is switchable and modifiable to fit the requirements of the existing application (e.g., different device shapes and button sizes).

Tap height is switchable and can be tailored to the application.

No additional driver installation is needed. Simply insert the USB cable into the existing system.
Due to its thin and flat surface, the hover sensor can be easily attached to existing devices.
High transparency and high sensitivity are achieved by pairing a high-performance JDI custom algorithm to JDI’s proprietary in-cell touch sensor Pixel Eyes™ technology.
Touch confirmation can also be achieved by audio feedback and cursor display via an application available from JDI.
